AmCham Palestine has held a meeting with U.S Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) Regional Director of the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Carl Kress on Monday, November 11, 2009 at 12:00 pm at AmCham offices in Ramallah. A number of AmCham members representing different sectors participated in this meeting and shared with Mr. Cress and Ms. Sarah Berans, Economic Officer at the U.S. Consulate issues related to their work affairs.
It was an opportunity for our members to learn about USTDA programs, activities and services in Palestine. The last two years the USTDA has developed a portfolio for projects in Palestine and provided various means of assistance to local Palestinian companies. USTDA aspires to expand the scope of its activity in Palestine and contribute to implement more projects that could receive success here.
The USTDA is an agency that promotes economic development and U.S. commercial interests in developing countries. The agency funds projects and activities that endorse local economic development in various forms of technical assistance, feasibility studies, training, orientation visits and business workshops that support the development of a modern infrastructure and a fair and open trading environment.
