Election of the New Board of Directors
for the Palestinian American Chamber of Commerce

RamallahThe General Assembly of the Palestinian American Chamber of Commerce held its General Conference on Tuesday October 25, 2011 at the Chamber’s headquarters in Ramallah in the presence of several members of the Chamber and the Companies Comptroller at the Ministry of National Economy; Mr. Nezam Ayoub.

The meeting commenced by a word from the Chairman of the Board; Attorney Kareem Shehadeh, in which he discussed the challenges faced by the Chamber over the past two years. Mr. Michel Orfali, Director of Ernst & Young, then submitted the financial report, which was approved by the members who attended the meeting and later took part in the elections for a new Board of Directors.

 

The newly elected Board held its first meeting on Tuesday November 1, 2011 and distributed their roles as follows:

Mr. Said Baransi; Chairman, Mr. Said Abu Hijleh; Vice Chairman, Mr. Imad Khoury; Treasurer, Mr. Ghassan Anabtawi; Secretary, Messrs. Imad Hindi, Imad Al Aref, Samer Qreitem, Mustafa Hasan and Khaled Qutob; Members.

It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian American Chamber of Commerce is looking to stimulate investment and encourage commercial activities between the Palestinian economy and the U.S. economy, in addition to strengthening the foreign relations between the private sector in both countries through the development of a database on trade, industry and finance in both countries, and provide this information to investors in a manner that serves the interests of trade and development for the two countries.
